Our First Snowfall Of The Season..

Welcome to Michigan and the first snowfall of the season.

Too bad that it's all going to melt by the end of the day.

It's all poetry to me. There is always beauty in the first snow.
All these photos were taken within a few blocks of my house.

A Special Thank You For A New Idea...

This was such a fun idea that I had to try it. Marilyn at Seeing Things gave an excellent tutorial on making these, as well as  other fun things.
Please check out her blog for some amazing projects.

These are hat pins. Actually you can wear them anywhere.
 The combinations are endless.
I added a squishy earring back so the the pin is secure and it won't stab you.

What Would You Do?

Yes, What would you do with collections that you are no longer interested in?
I started this collection for my daughter when she was a small child. These are
Boyds Bears.
They could be worth something to someone....But what do I do?

This is a collection of...Yes, Mickey Mouse. This collection was started after we took her to Disney World for the first time. Other friends helped with this collection along the way. What do I do with this one? Please, I need ideas...
This is my collection of buttons. I've had these for many years and I'm not ready to give them up.
They are easily stored in a huge jug, taking up very little space.
Until dumping them out on the table to go through them for a project.
These are all glass and jet buttons.
Here are a few vintage buttons.

I estimate that I have over 2000 buttons.
What do you collect?

I also have a collection of very old keys that my dad started for me. I still have those but will blog about them another time.

New Items...

I recently brought some of the bracelets that I make to an Art Show.

This is what these look like when someone is wearing this type.
This next bracelet wraps around your wrist and snaps underneath.
Here is a close-up of the sparkle.
By the end of the show I had none left...I think that they were a hit.

I thought that I would share them with you also.

Halloween Blog Party of 2012

Welcome to my Halloween Party. There are a lot of fun things to see, so I hope you stay a while.
A big thank you goes out to Miss Vanessa at
afancifultwist. She has put all of these wonderous parties together. Please check out her sidebar for more Halloween fun.

 Welcome...
A house is never still...You can hear whispering in the chambers.

Would you like a cup of creepy tea? The spiders really like it.

A thousand fearful images dance through the mind.
 Double double toil and trouble.

A touch of this and a pinch of that.
It is the bewitching time of night.
A name on the wind, a face from the past, A voice long un-heard shall be heard at last.
Come with me All Hallows Night.
Will frighten everyone in sight.
Such pranks for once, are justified
And fun and frolic amplified.
There is nothing that gives you more assurance than a mask.
Grab a key and unlock the portals of your imagination.
Mostly by observing..this is the means used to frighten you.

On Halloween the thing you must do is pretend that nothing can frighten you. If somethin' scares you and you want to run, just let on that it is just Halloween fun.
Illuminate the darkness. See what is waiting in the shadows.
On Halloween, witches come out, wild ghosts escape from our dreams.
Remember, if you want to let yourself out, grab a key.
Stur up a potion...
Eye of newt tail of frog....and a spot of sparkle.
Don't forget a dab of fantasy .
Where there is no imagination there is no Halloween.
Be wary then; your best safety lies in fear.

Time Has Come...

The time has come for all to buy their favorite pumpkin of the bunch.
I looked and looked and wanted the most unique pumpkin that I could find.

This is what I chose. It is the smallest and the wartest that I have ever seen. What do you think?

Please be sure to check in on Saturday the 27th for the greatest Halloween Blog Party ever.
Miss Vanessa from afancifultwist is hosting this awesome party so, please check in. All of the parties are listed on her sidebar.
