Hens and Chicks-the plant type

I was surprised this summer to see stalks sprouting from my hens and chicks. I did some reserch and discovered that they do this every four years. Then, the stalk dies and new offshoots grow from the remaining plants.

WOW! Really pretty flowers. I didn't realize that hens and chicks did this. I have some in my backyard as well, hopefully I'll get to see them bloom too! Love the close up pictures by the way.

I love the hens and chicks, I think I will have to get some, of course I'm not good with plants. The pics are great, I also love the new little pet, brings back fond memories of gerbils we had. Thanks for the beautifuls pictures you give us all to view, and the cute litlle critter.
