A Little Sparkle...

I was recently visiting a older cousin in an assisted living program. She is 92. We talked for a while and she mentioned that she remembered that I liked her sparkly jewelry. She is known for her jewelry. She said that she had some that she no longer needed or wanted.

She handed me a small box of things, told me not to open it there so I said I wouldn't.
We visited for a little while longer and then it was dinner time for her. I wheeled her down to the dinning room and I said my good byes and left. It seemed  that it took me forever to get home but I made it.
 This is what I received.
 Necklace, earrings and bracelet.
 Necklace
 Brooch
 Bracelet and earrings that match.
 Brooch
I am asking all of you what do you think?

Oh my, so many sparkly things! The ones that aren't so pretty are at least kitschy fun :) I'm sure you could re-purpose some in crafts, and use for dress-ups like on Halloween.

I personally love them all! That's when they made good jewelry! For me, there are certain pieces I would be wearing for everyday. But that's me ;o) Jeans, t-shirt, and a funky necklace and bracelet ;o) Have fun with them Linda ;o)

Gorgeous pieces- a gift you couldn't replicate these days. Enjoy them, and if you decide to sell or upcycle, find out if they are gems or look a likes in case you want to save some for your daughter?

Oh WOW! I would wear it for sure! You know how I love old jewelry, but this stuff is too good to break up and use in artwork or to re-purpose. I would certainly keep those in the family.

These are wonderful. Lucky you! It's nice to get such a box of treasures from your relative. And I think she will be happy if you appreciate and preserve them. All of these are very beautiful especially the green necklace and bracelet.
